$90.00

Sunday, April 14, 2026, 9 am – 12 pm
3 NYS & NCBTMB CE credits. Tuition: $90.

This 3-hour course explores massage techniques to relieve pain and tension in the foot and lower extremities. Topics include a brief review of kinesiology, including the dynamic relationship between the foot, ankle, knee and hip; common areas of tension and muscles that tend to be overlooked, such as Tibialis Posterior and the deeper areas of the arch; acupressure points involved in foot and lower extremity pain and their associated contraindications; and gentle and deep-tissue techniques to facilitate increased function. Also discussed are assessment methods and effective treatment planning to address foot and lower extremity pain. The demonstration includes carefully facilitated stretches that respect clients’ pain threshold as one possible assessment method; addressing key acupressure points; and adapted-Shiatsu palming, vibration, friction, and connective tissue therapy.  Supervised practice reinforces lecture and practical application of techniques.
