3 NYS & NCBTMB CE credits
Tuition: $90
This 3-hour course focuses on providing safe and effective massage for clients who prefer deep pressure. Students learn how to use multiple manual techniques to achieve deep pressure, how to adjust these techniques to avoid fatigue, how to gauge depth based on palpation and communication, and how to help clients relax into deep work. The relationship between the therapist's and client's experience of pressure is explored by using different parts of the hand and forearm to scale pressure up or down. Adjusting table height to assist with deep pressure is also reviewed. Demonstration of Swedish, neuromuscular therapy, and sports deep pressure massage techniques are then followed by supervised hands-on practice.
