In this 3-hour course, students learn how to skillfully explain and incorporate a sequence of abdominal massage techniques into their work with clients. Topics include cautions, contraindications, boundaries, secure draping techniques, an abdominal massage protocol, and strategies for confidently introducing and discussing this type of massage. Also discussed is effective treatment planning based on assessment. Demonstration includes a sequence of abdominal massage integrated into a massage session, including how to introduce and normalize working with this vulnerable area of the body. Supervised practice reinforces lecture and practical application of techniques.
