This 4-hour course offers introductory information about essential oils and how to use them to create safe and therapeutically effective products for personal use. Topics include general safety and safety specific to pregnancy; dilution guidelines; the therapeutic properties of the essential oils introduced in class; essential oil quality and methods of extraction; modes of application; and how essential oils are used to support health and stimulate the body’s natural process of self-healing. Demonstration followed by supervised hands-on practice in which participants work with aromatherapy supplies provided to make a product offers hands-on experience that reinforces lecture.
